James Wesley Vaughn, 87, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016.
He was born on Oct. 3, 1928 to the late Clarence and Dessie Vaughn. Wesley was a resident of this area for the past 50+ years and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. He loved camping, gardening, working in the yard, “tinkering,” and watching Gunsmoke and Westerns. Above all things, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two wives, Ruby Boring Vaughn and Beulah Mae Vaughn; son, James Gary Vaughn; daughter, Anna Irene Moynihan; step-daughter, Kathy Gates; and step-son-in-law, Dale Murray.
He is survived by two step-sons, Lamar Gates (Irene) and Michael Gates; three step-daughters, Phyllis Murray, Debbie Farris (Fletcher) and Janie Osborne (Jason); and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8 at Lebanon Baptist Church 1411 Old Parksville Road NE, Cleveland, TN 37323 with Rev. Fletcher Farris officiating. Interment will follow the service on Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7 at the church and from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service on Monday.
