  • Sunday, February 7, 2016
Senior Trent Hill enjoyed one of the best days of his career at Lee University on Sunday afternoon. The lefty hurled five innings of one-hit ball and struck out nine Albany State players. His performance continued with a pair of doubles and a triple in five trips to the plate. He knocked in three runs in Lee's 9-1 victory.

The win completed the three-game sweep over the visiting Rams. The Flames will return to action next Saturday and Sunday hosting Tiffin University (Ohio) in a three-game series.

Lee made the best of nine hits in Sunday's affair and took advantage of 11 walks issued by seven Albany State hurlers.
Shae Durham collected three big RBI when he unloaded a bases-loaded double in the fifth inning. Chris Adams, Ben Holland and Tyler Waters had one hit and posted RBIs in the win. Tyler Payne scored twice while Adams, Holland, Hill, MJ Brown and Waters scored Lee's other runs.

The Flames moved out to a 3-0 advantage over the first three innings and then scored three runs in the fifth, two more in the sixth and a single tally in the seventh to put the nine-inning win in the books.

The Rams were able to collect two hits off of five Lee hurlers. Kyle Briner followed Hill to the mound and surrendered one hit over one inning. Christian Bokich, Rob Gustitus and Corbin Lamb worked the final three innings without allowing a hit. Overall, the Lee pitching staff struck out 14 Rams and allowed just one hit. Hill was the winning pitcher, while Albany State starter Cullen Coulter took the loss. Trevor Billings and Theodore Smith had the only hits for the losers.
