Erlanger Offers Free Mammograms To Underinsured Women

  • Monday, February 8, 2016

The Erlanger Center for Breast Health is offering a limited number of mammograms at no charge to uninsured and underinsured females in the region between now and March 30.  “Last month, we initially offered 100 free mammograms, funded by the Chattanooga affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation,” explained Janet Kramer-Mai, Erlanger Center for Breast Health Manager. “Although many women have taken advantage of this offer, we still have free mammograms available.”

The free imaging test is available to women without insurance, and women with insurance that does not provide mammogram screenings. Patients must supply the name of a primary care provider to receive the test results. For those without a primary care provider, the Erlanger Center for Breast Health will provide assistance in locating an appropriate provider for the patient.

The mammograms can be scheduled at Erlanger East, North, Baroness, and Bledsoe Hospitals by calling theErlanger Center for Breast Health at 423-778-8999.
