Yummuse D. Hendrix, 39, was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools, and evading arrest Monday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 4700 block of Midland Pike around 2 p.m. on Monday.  A community member had noticed a man breaking into a home and called police.

Officers arrived on the scene within a minute of receiving the call, set up a perimeter and approached the house.  The suspect ran from the scene and attempted to hide in nearby bushes.

Coordinated search and containment efforts by the Neighborhood Policing Officers of the Brainerd area kept the suspect from escaping and he was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

Officers found several items linking the suspect to the burglary. Investigation revealed Hendrix was responsible for multiple burglaries which occurred in the area, police said.
