Hamilton Place To Unveil Winners Of 6th Annual Student Art Competition

  • Wednesday, March 16, 2016

Hamilton Place will host  the sixth annual student art competition awards reception this Friday, at 10 am.  Light refreshments will be provided by Barnes & Noble Café and the public is invited to attend.  The reception and awards ceremony will take place on the main stage, on the lower level of the mall by Belk Women’s & Children’s Store.

This year’s theme “Hamilton Place – A Novel Experience” invited Hamilton County Students in grades K – 12 to design a book cover to combine their favorite literary read, with a shopping tie in.

Students were divided into three categories by grade, with first place winners receiving a $50 Barnes & Noble Gift Card; second place winners receiving a $35 Barnes & Noble Gift Card and third place winners receiving a $20 Barnes & Noble Gift Card.  In addition twelve honorable mentions will be awarded this year.

“We were so impressed with the imaginative and original artwork that we received for this year’s competition,” stated Dan Wolfe, general manager for Hamilton Place. “There is unbelievable talent in these young artists and we are proud to help showcase their work.” All winning pieces will be on display in the mall’s soft seating areas through July 2016.
