Dalton State seniors Jordan Bowling and Jalen Robinson have received high national honors for the recently-completed 2015-2016 basketball season.
The Dalton State duo were named NAIA Basketball Division I Honorable Mention All-Americans Thursday by the national office in Kansas City, Mo.
Bowling, 6-6, was the 2015 NAIA National Tournament MVP. The native of Somerville, Ala. played in all 30 Roadrunner games this season. He completed the season as number 26 in D-I in 3-point field goal pct. Bowling completed the month of November with six straight games with double-doubles (scoring and rebounds). He led the Roadrunners in total points (402) and rebounds (230) Bowling also tallied 17 blocked shots.
Robinson, 6-9, is a native of Columbus, Oh. He enrolled at Dalton State in the fall and became eligible to play in time for the Dec. 20th game against Ave Maria (Fl.). During his 17 games as a Roadrunner, Robinson finished the season averaging 15.5 points per game to top Dalton State scoring averages. His 7.9 rebounds a game lead the Roadrunners. Robinson also had 17 blocked shots.
“Jalen and Jordan have brought a great deal of notoriety to our Roadrunner basketball program,” said Coach Tony Ingle. “They gave us a great one-two-punch inside this season because they are great skilled players that can pass, shoot, rebound and they just simply know how to play. They are very deserving of the honors.”
Dalton State finished the 2015-2016 season with a 19-11 overall record and 11-7 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
