The Lee University Chamber Strings
The Lee University Chamber Strings will present a concert on Friday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.
The concert, “Lee’s Got Talent,” will showcase works from Beethoven to Broadway. The group will also perform an accordion piece, “Beer Barrel Polka;” a saxophone piece, “Summertime;” a marimba piece, and some Chinese folk music performed on a Guqin, which is a special Chinese instrument.
Thirteen-year-old Hanchi Shi, a violinist from the Juilliard School, will join the Chamber Strings on Beethoven’s triple concerto.
Chamber Strings, directed by associate professor of violin Xiaoqing Yu, is a dynamic ensemble composed of the university’s finest violinists, violists, cellists, and bassists, presenting diverse performances both on and off campus.
