Murphy, Wardlaw Qualify For Walker County Races

Vincent Murphy qualified on Wednesday for Walker County School Board, Post 4. Mr. Murphy is a Democrat.

Charles D. Wardlaw qualified for county surveyor. He is a Republican.

Shannon Whitfield and Mike Peardon were among those qualifying Tuesday. Both local businessmen announced prior to the first of the year that they would seek the post held by Bebe Heiskell.

Others qualifying Tuesday were:

Dale Wilson, school board Post 4

Phyllis Hunter, school board Post 5

Others who will be seeking new terms include Sheriff Steve Wilson, Clerk of Court Carter Brown, Tax Commissioner Carolyn Walker, Coroner Dewayne Wilson, Probate Court Judge Christy Anderson and Magistrate Sheila Thompson.

Karen Stoker is running for School Board.
