BlueCross Celebrates Earth Day With Public Event

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is celebrating Earth Day by inviting the community to bring its recyclable and reusable items to its Gateway facility, 401 M L King Blvd., on Friday, April 22 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Several organizations will be joining BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee to help celebrate Earth Day 2016.

Goodwill Industries of Chattanooga will provide trucks to help collect items such as, old electronics, furniture and clothing.

Shred IT will provide shredding trucks to those who wish to drop off outdated personal records.

The local chapter of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators will provide consulting on how to dispose of your personal documents and electronics.

Pharmacy representatives will be onsite to answer any questions about old and outdated prescription medicines.  Additionally, representatives from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will be taking unwanted medication as part of Pill Take Back Day.
