Driver Being Chased By County Deputies Crashes Into Tree And Dies In Soddy Daisy

A driver who was suspected of being intoxicated and was chased by sheriff deputies late Sunday night crashed into a tree and was killed.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Osage Road and Dayton Pike in Soddy Daisy.

Deputies received a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) from dispatch for a possible intoxicated driver and a description of the vehicle.

.At approximately 10:45 p.m., deputies located the driver in question and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver refused to stop for authorities and a pursuit ensued. After a short pursuit, the driver lost control and was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

The driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by Hamilton County EMS personnel.

The HCSO has requested the Tennessee Highway Patrol to investigate the crash.
