University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball head coach Matt McCall is the featured speaker for this year’s Lunch for Champions at Orange Grove Center.
The lunch will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Orange Grove Center main campus at 615 Derby St.
Lunch for Champions is an annual event to raise awareness of and funds for Orange Grove
Center and its programs and services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental
disabilities. Lunch for Champions also serves as a thank you to all those who make Orange
Grove’s programs and services possible.
After just one season with UTC, Coach McCall was named 2016’s Southern Conference Coach
of the Year. Before coming to the Mocs, Coach McCall spent four years as an assistant coach at
the University of Florida and three years as an assistant coach at Florida Atlantic University.
In addition to Coach McCall, guests will hear from Janet Daniel. Her son, Ben, is an
individual served by the Center. The Daniel family has been involved with Orange Grove Center
for twenty years.
Last year’s speaker was UTC women's basketball coach Jim Foster. Past speakers for the Orange
Grove Center event include Gene Stallings, Lindsey Nelson, Holly Warlick, Bob Kesling, Bill
