Driver Seriously Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash On Middle Valley Road

A driver was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a single-car accident on Middle Valley Road.

A 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser was headed northbound on Middle Valley Road around 3:30 p.m. when it left the roadway on the left side of the road and rolled and flipped several times.
 
The unrestrained driver, Michael Smith of Hixson, 29, was partially ejected and partially entrapped under the vehicle when it came to rest.
 
The driver was taken to a local hospital in critical condition from injuries sustained in the crash.

HCSO Traffic investigators are investigating the cause of the accident.
