William Matthew Harvey has been charged with manslaughter in the stabbing death of Shawn Russell at Rumors Bar on April 5.
Police said the victim was playing pool with his girlfriend when Jonathon Paul Harvey began taunting him about a clover on his shirt. Witnesses said Jonathan Harvey said he was a member of "AB" and "was not down with clovers." Police said AB refers to Aryan Brotherhood.
The situation escalated, causing the bar tender to escort Jonathan Harvey away from Russell to prevent a fight. Jonathan Harvey returned and a fight broke out when Russell became upset that he had insulted his girlfriend.
Police said video shows Shawn Russell attacking Jonathan Harvey, striking him with a pool cue. He knocked Jonathan Harvey down and started hitting him with his fists.
The video shows that as Russell stood up and lunged at Jonathan Harvey that William Harvey stabbed Russell once in the left flank.
Directly after the stabbing, the Harveys exited the bar and fled in a black SUV.
The victim was able to walk about 12 feet before falling to the floor.
Police said, "Witnesses on scene described the altercation between Shawn and Jonathan as a bar fight and indicated that at no time did they believe Jonathon's life was in danger."
A warrant for the arrest of Harvey was issued on Monday.
Harvey was located by the Chattanooga Police Fugitive Unit and booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Tuesday.
William Harvey, 25, of 7221 Cane Hollow Road in Hixson, and Johnathan Harvey, 27, had been sought for questioning in the incident.
They were located and interviewed by the Chattanooga Violent Crimes Bureau.
The District Attorney's office was presented the case to determine if charges would be filed.
