Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport officials announced Wednesday that American Airlines is upgrading aircraft at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) to include increased seating capacity for direct flights to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT).
Originally servicing DFW and CLT, the Bombardier CRJ-200 features 50 seats. DFW will be serviced using the Embraer 175, which seats 76 passengers. Some CLT flights will use the Bombardier CRJ–900, which also seats 76 passengers. These upgrades will add 100 more seats per day in Chattanooga. The larger aircraft offers customers the choice of First Class seats, Main Cabin Extra seats with more legroom and Wi-Fi on select aircraft throughout the cabin.

American is investing $3 billion in the customer experience adding more all-aisle access; fully lie-flat seats; international Wi-Fi; more in-flight entertainment options and power outlets; and improved food and beverage offerings.
American Airlines currently offers two daily round trip flights between CHA and DFW and six between CHA and CLT.
