  • Wednesday, April 20, 2016

Cleveland and Bradley County will be having a city-wide "active shooter" drill on Thursday.

Officials said, "The administration, physicians, and staff of Tennova Healthcare - Cleveland will join with the Cleveland Bradley County Emergency Management Agency, Cleveland Police Department, Bradley County Sheriff’s Department, Bradley County Emergency Management Services and various other professionals with, Cleveland and Bradley County.

The purpose will be to conduct an exercise to determine readiness, communication capabilities and verification of parameters that have been previously studied and set by professional emergency responders and employees. This exercise is not only necessary to promote standard safety procedures, but it is also just one more effort put in place by ALL departments in our region to ensure a quick and effective response time to any and all emergencies that may present themselves in an industrial environment.

"We want to alert the community of the upcoming drill to have a better understanding of this exercise and its purpose. Again, this will be a citywide exercise. We thank all who are involved in this planned exercise that that is routinely performed across Bradley County and at differing locations. This effective procedure ensures that we are not only ready, but we are also prepared and knowledgeable of possible adverse scenarios that may need to be addressed beforehand to ensure success in an emergency response."
