SoundCorps will present the third installment of TakeNote, a quarterly professional development series designed to help local music industry professionals build their businesses and careers, on May 9. The topic of the event is centered on recording techniques and will also explore the current state of the recording industry, a topic local musicians indicated as a priority at SpeakUp in June 2015.
This TakeNote session will be of interest to aspiring artists, sound engineers, recording studio owners, radio executives, and anyone interested in the music recording industry.
The event will take place at the Camp House at 6 p.m. and will feature Grammy Award–winning recording engineer Charlie Brocco (Kacey Musgraves, Fleetwood Mac), Tree Sound Studios owner Paul Diaz (Outkast, Collective Soul), Hennessy Dreams studio owner Lex Dirty (Rick Ross, Rihanna), and Open Sky Studio owner, producer, session and touring drummer, Mike Froedge (Black Label Society).
The evening will kick off with one hour of networking, then will feature a panel session moderated by SoundCorps Executive Director Stratton Tingle, followed by an audience-led Q&A. Catering will be provided by Tremont Tavern. Beer, wine, and other refreshments will be available for purchase from the Camp House. The price of admission is $10.
