“The Beauty of the Earth,” featuring paintings by members of the Civic Arts League and residents of Garden Plaza of Greenbriar Cove, is on display at Garden Plaza through Saturday.
The Civic Arts League is a nonprofit organization of artists and associates in the tri-state area, and Garden Plaza is an independent living facility in Collegedale.
The exhibit includes more than 90 paintings by 25 artists in various media, among them oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastel. Many of the works are for sale, with prices ranging from $45 to several thousand.
“It has been such a pleasure to showcase our residents’ talent along with the Civic Arts League at Garden Plaza,” said Jaimme Preston, executive director of Garden Plaza. “Walking through the halls and seeing the beautiful artwork is a lovely change of scenery.”
Jo Thomas, art director of the league, and Scott Leach, a Chattanooga artist and Garden Plaza resident, worked with Christian McDonald, activities director at Garden Plaza, to organize the show. Leach teaches art classes at the community, and eight of his students are represented.
“The Beauty of the Earth” may be viewed daily between 8 a.m.-8 p.m. For more information, call 396-5100.
Garden Plaza of Greenbriar Cove is at 4586 Forsythia Way.
