Last Chattanooga Downtown Shoe Shop Closing

  • Friday, April 29, 2016

Kenton Shoe Shop at 802 Broad Street is closing.

The owner, Reginald Cousin, 73, said the building has been purchased, and "he doesn't want to move again."

Mr. Cousin said he's "nervous about retiring" because he likes to keep busy...but he said he does have a few things in mind for the future. He said his nephew is buying his well-worn, well-loved equipment and is going to open up his own shoe shop, though he has not found a location yet.
