Slack-Melton Family Reunion June 5

The Slack-Melton family reunion will be held June 5, 2016, Sunday 1:00 at Englewood Community Center, 105 Carroll St, Englewood, TN 37329.

Please bring covered dishes to share. Paper products and ice will be provided.

Bring family genealogy information, old Bibles, pictures, keepsakes, hand-made crafts such as quilts and musical instruments, etc. We would love for anyone who is willing to sing or play an instrument to please join us.

In the mid 1830’s three sons of Tunis Slack from Loudon Co., VA came to McMinn Co., TN. They were Abraham, Ephraim and Samuel W. Slack. Three of Samuel W. & Sarah Reed Slack’s sons married 3 Melton sisters; daughters of John & Nancy Kelly Melton. Samuel P. Slack married Eliza Jane Melton; James Henry married Sarah Catherine Melton & William J. Harrison Slack married Mary Louise Melton. Mary Diana Slack married Isaac Leo Russell. All descendants are welcome to come.

This is an annual event held the 1st Sunday in June, so please mark your calendars. Also, please let other family and relatives know about the reunion.
