Stokes, Carolyn L. Dilbeck (Cleveland)

Carolyn L. Dilbeck Stokes, 65, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Thursday night, April 28, 2016 in a local hospital surrounded by her family.

Carolyn was born in Cleveland on Aug. 5, 1950, to the late R.J. & Louise Davis. She was of the Church of God faith. Carolyn loved taking care of her house, family and feeding “her birds”.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Joe Dilbeck; her son, Robert Eugene Marshall; one brother, Robert James Davis; and her step-father, William Owen Stokes.

She is survived by her loving husband, Doyle Stokes; one son, Joe Dilbeck and his wife Jennifer; two grandchildren, Tyler & Brittney Dilbeck; six sisters, Barbara Ponder of Smith County, TN, Johnnie Hayes(Steve), Linda Crisp(Tony), Connie Sloan (Tommy) of Decatur, AL, Sandra Clayton and Tonya Hutton (Jason); numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends. 

A celebration of her life is planned for Tuesday, May 3 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Kenneth Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the Neeley Cemetery in Meigs County. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 2 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home parlor and also one hour prior to the Tuesday service. 

Companion Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
