Entrance Fee Waived At Point Park For National Park Week

To encourage all Americans to visit their national parks, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will waive the entrance fee to enter Point Park, atop Lookout Mountain, during National Park Week, from Saturday, April 16 through Sunday, April 24.  

"As the National Park Service celebrates its 100th anniversary, visit a national park during National Park Week and participate in a ranger-guided program. All of us have unique stories connecting us to parks, and we hope you find yours at Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park," officials said.

On Saturday, April 16 and on Sunday, April 17, car caravan tours of Chickamauga Battlefield are scheduled at 10 a.m. and at 2 p.m. On Saturday, April 23, a car caravan tour is scheduled at 10 a.m. and a special program exploring the history of the National Park Service is scheduled at 2 p.m. These programs begin inside the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center.

At Lookout Mountain Battlefield, inside Point Park, ranger-guided walking tours are scheduled for Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m. and for Sunday, April 17 at 11 a.m.  Walking tours are also scheduled for Saturday, April 23 and for Sunday, April 24 at 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m. These programs begin inside the Point Park entrance gate.
