Betty Jean Patton Jackson, born December 19, 1938, died peacefully on April 7, 2016.
She was of the Christian faith and accepted Christ at the Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She answered the call of nurse and caregiver at South Pittsburg Municipal Hospital and later at Rivermont Nursing Home. She also served as community nurse, administering medications and injections throughout her neighborhood. Her most gratifying role was as daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
She is now reunited with those who preceded her: a son, Gerald B. Jackson, parents, Chris and Vella Mae Patton, sisters, Annetta Edwards, Brenda Jackson, Sandra Moore and Martha Reynolds, and brother-in-law John Chitty.
Those grieving who have hope are her husband, Gentle P. Jackson, Sr., her devoted son, Tom (Denise) Jackson, her siblings, Billie Chitty, Don (Grace) Patton, Drake and Jerome Patton, her grandchildren, Nakia Barksdale, Christopher and Bradley Jackson, brothers-in-law, Benjamin Jackson and Larry Moore, special nieces, Dorothy Jackson and Charlsie Edwards, and dear friends Brenda Wigfall, Lena Clay, Sarah Hudson and Janelle Chance, and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Tuesday, April 12, from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., with graveside funeral services to follow at noon Central Time at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN.
