Bill White
Bill White, 83, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and formerly of Charlotte, North Carolina, died peacefully on Monday May 9, 2016.
Billy Bailey White was born in Chase City, Va., on Sept. 19, 1932, to Zella White.
He served in the Merchant Marines from 1951 to 1957. He owned his own commercial roofing and residential heating and cooling company from 1957 through 1960. The next 34 years he was a project manger on large construction projects including two hospitals. In 1995, he was semi-retired and came to Chattanooga to help his son with his residential construction company (Dexter W White Construction) to present.
Bill was the beloved husband of the late Jackie (Propst) White. He was the loving father of Teresa White, and Dexter White and wife, Linda. He enjoyed the opportunity that the construction industry and hunting gave him, meeting and make friends all over the world. He was respected by all that knew him and took great pride in all he did.
A memorial service will be held at Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle at 8405 Daisy-Dallas Road, Hixson, on Thursday, May 12, at 6 p.m. with visitation from 5-6 p.m. prior to the service.
