Authorities said a witness saw a man stealing items from the St. Jude Dream Home, then, after he gave chase, the burglary suspect got out of his vehicle and punctured the witness's tire.

Carmen Murray, 34, of Monteagle, Tn., was arrested in Nashville on Sunday night and returned to Hamilton County.

He was booked on failure to appear, theft of property, aggravated burglary, and vandalism/malicious mischief.

Murray had been wanted by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office since April in connection with the aggravated burglary of the St. Jude Dream Home on Prairie Lake Drive in Apison.

On April 11, the witness said he was doing a security check at a nearby house when he saw a blue Honda sitting in front of the garage at the Dream Home at 10924 Prairie Lake Dr. He said the same blue Honda had been used in a burglary the previous day at 1611 Gable Green Dr.

He said he saw a white male exit the garage and enter the Honda. He Honda left at a high rate of speed and he followed out of the neighborhood and onto East Brainerd Road. The Honda pulled into Horizons Drive and the man got out, approached the vehicle of the witness, and punctured the tire. That disabled the vehicle.

Gus Issa, builder of the Dream Home, estimated the dollar loss at $7,565. The damage to the tire was put at $400.

A picture of the burglary suspect was obtained from the victim of another nearby burglary. He said the same man broke into a house he is building at 1611 Gable Green Dr., the previous night and was captured on a trail camera.

After the photo of the suspect was posted by the news media, a caller said the man was Murray. Law enforcement in Grundy County called to say it was definitely Murray. A blue Honda was located at Murray's residence at 82 Raulston St. in Monteagle.

Murray was at his mother's home in Nashville when he was arrested.
