Edwina Varnell
Edwina C. Varnell, 83, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a special niece, Nancy Jones.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Charles, son, Christopher (Jane), two granddaughters, Amelia (Matthew) Pruett and Christina Varnell, four great-grandchildren, Andy, Kyle, Abigail and Graham, and sister, Betty (Larry) Jones.
A graduate of Notre Dame High School Class of 1951, Edwina went to work for Provident, then Dixie Yarns, and then TVA from which she retired after many years of service. She was a former member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she and Charles married and attended Red Bank Baptist in later years. Edwina most enjoyed celebrating holidays, spending time with family, playing with the great grandchildren and was an avid UT Vols fan.
Services will be held at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12-1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
