David Mitchell Standifer, 56, of Sale Creek, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016 at Memorial North Park Hospital.
Mitchell was born on Oct. 27, 1959 in Chattanooga to the late Billy Mac and Betty Irene (Webb) Standifer; and was also preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Lynn Williamson.
Mitchell lived on Sale Creek Mountain all of his life and was a graduate of Sale Creek High School and had attended Chattanooga State Community College. Mitchell retired from TVA in 2013, after 36 years as Project Manager. He enjoyed his visits to Punta Gorda, Florida and attended The Rock Metropolitan Church in Chattanooga.
He is survived by his husband, Bernard “Bern” Langley of Sale Creek Mountain; his sister, Mitzi Standifer of Sale Creek Mountain; and several cousins and aunts.
Funeral services for Mitchell will be held Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be Friday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at the Standifer Family Cemetery on Sale Creek Mountain.
The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Thursday after 4 p.m.
