The McCallie boys soccer team gave a second half goal off a long throw in that would be the difference Wednesday night in the Division IIAA state soccer semifinals against MBA.
MBA advances to the state championship game on Thursday at 1:30 against Christian Brothers.
McCallie ends their season with an impressive 13-3-3 record.
The goal came in the 51st minute after a long throw in by MBA. The ball bounced in the box and Henry Hylbert was able to get the shot off inside the for what would be the game winner.
McCallie pushed forward in the final 20 minutes and had several dangerous chances on goal.
MBA keeper Zac Jernigan had five official saves in the game but was very busy in the second half clearing crosses.
McCallie out shot MBA 13-11. McCallie keeper Emerson Brock had four saves.
