Special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, working with investigators with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department and the office of the 7th District Attorney General, have obtained indictments for a former Oak Ridge police officer accused of aggravated statutory rape and official misconduct.

At the request of 7th District Attorney General Dave Clark, TBI special agents began investigating then-Oak Ridge Police Officer Cassen Jackson-Garrison on Aug. 13, 2015, on a complaint that he was having sexual contact with a minor. During the course of the investigation, agents developed information that Jackson-Garrison had sexual contact with the teen in July 2015.

The Anderson County Grand Jury returned indictments on Tuesday charging Jackson-Garrison, 31, with one count of aggravated statutory rape and one count of official misconduct.  TBI special agents and deputies with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Department took Jackson-Garrison into custody without incident in Mt. Juliet, Tenn. on Friday morning. He was transported to Anderson County and was booked into the Anderson County Jail, where he is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Jackson-Garrison was terminated from his employment with the Oak Ridge Police Department in August.
