Funeral Services Are Tuesday For Chris Denton, Victim In Meigs County Wreck That Killed 4; Driver Of Other Vehicle Still At Large

Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Christopher “Chris“ Sean Denton, 36, of Birchwood.  Mr. Denton was one of the victims in Friday's three-vehicle accident on Highway 58 in Meigs County that left four people dead.

Police are still looking for John Wesley Bennett, 34, who fled the scene on foot after causing the accident.

Mr. Denton is survived by his father George C. Denton, Jr., of Pikeville; mother, Lesa Carol Denton Silis of Seattle, Wash.; brother, Larry Marvin Denton of Calhoun, Tn; and sisters, Sherrie Leann Denton of Birchwood, and Tina Michelle Denton Recskes of Georgetown, Tn. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at The Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Warren Denton and Rev. Peggy Denton officiating.  Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
