Morning Pointe Of Collegedale Celebrates 10th Anniversary

  • Friday, June 10, 2016

Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove announces its 10th anniversary celebration, next Thursday from 4-6 p.m., with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 4:30 p.m.  The ceremony will take place their facility, 9650 Leyland Dr., off of Ooltewah-Ringgold Road in Ooltewah.

The assisted living community is part of the Greenbriar Cove active-adult retirement campus built by Independent Healthcare Properties LLC that includes independent living and senior care options for aging in place.

“The celebration marks a decade of quality care and service to seniors in the Hamilton County area on the Greenbriar Cove campus,” says Greg A. Vital, president and CEO of Independent Healthcare Properties LLC and Morning Pointe Senior Living. “Morning Pointe celebrates the lives of seniors who call the assisted living community home, and we reflect on the many milestones achieved in providing enriching senior living programs.”

The ceremony will open with an invocation by Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church Pastor Tim Cross. Remarks will be given by local dignitaries and special guests, including Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger, City of Collegedale Commissioner Ethan White, Kim Oliver, president of the Ooltewah/Collegedale Chamber of Commerce, and Dr. Ben Wygal, Southern Adventist University assistant to the president.

Guests will enjoy a photo memoir presentation showcasing the history of Morning Pointe of Collegedale – from the groundbreaking, to the grand opening, and the community’s partnerships and growth in Hamilton County.

A flag ceremony will be observed, courtesy of Collegedale Pathfinders, and Collegedale Korean Seventh-day Adventist Church Children’s Choir will perform songs of dedication.

Dorothy Hulbert, Morning Pointe of Collegedale resident featured in the Spring 2014 issue of Milestones magazine, will share a few words about her life at Morning Pointe.

“I have made some wonderful friends – of course, we all love activities,” Ms. Hulbert says.
“I am thankful that I no longer have to cook anymore. Because my favorite part of a kitchen is the door that goes out. And anytime that bus is moving, I am on it.”

Morning Pointe of Collegedale is located on the Greenbriar Cove master-planned retirement community, adjacent to The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s and Memory Care Center of Excellence. The senior campus offers tranquil surroundings among 100 acres of meadows and lakes, with 17 acres dedicated as parkland and conservation areas.

Amenities include a community center with indoor heated pool and fitness center, fitness trail, on-site nature program coordinator, certified fitness instructor, fine dining, Bistro café, golf cart paths, and a community garden.

Tours of the assisted living community will be given and refreshments will be served. Guests may RSVP to 423-396-6999.
