Fire damaged the home of a family of seven Friday night.
At 10:14 p.m., a 911 call was made by the homeowner, Nancy Rienel, reporting her house was on fire.
The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded to 7609 Cove Ridge Road and arrived on the scene reporting 45% of the house was fully involved. Since structure endangerment was a serious issue, firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire to the one structure.
Ms. Rienel informed fire officials she and her grandson smelled smoke coming from the attic area. She said the smoke increased quickly that she was unable to find the fire source and try to extinguish the fire.
No injuries were reported. Five of the family members were not home and had been attending the Riverbend festivities.
Dallas Bay VFD Chief, Markus Fritts reported 60% of the house is a loss and damages are estimated at $100,000.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
The American Red Cross will be taking care of the family with their immediate needs.
