Red Bank firefighters battled a house fire in brutal hot temperatures Saturday afternoon.
At 12:50 p.m., a neighbor called 911 reporting a house fire at 4523 W. Ravenwood Drive.
The Red Bank Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene reporting 50% of the house was on fire. Due to the extreme hot temperatures, Red Bank fire officials requested a mutual aid response for additional manpower. Walden's Ridge Emergency Services, Dallas Bay VFD and Soddy Daisy Fire Department responded to the scene.
The East Ridge Fire Department and Signal Mountain Fire Department were on standby at Red Bank Station 1 for any emergency calls in Red Bank's district.
Red Bank fire officials reported the homeowner was home but was able to escaped without injury. Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for any potential firefighter injuries.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Red Bank Fire and Police Department. Damages are listed at $160,000.
The American Res Cross responded to the scene to assist the family's immediate needs.
