A men’s top seed looks for a second straight singles title, while two teens battle for the women’s singles crown to highlight the final day of the Icy Hot TVOC Tennis tournament this morning at Manker Patten Tennis Club.

Former U. of Georgia player and 2015 champ Nathan Pasha takes on No.2 seed Harrison O’Keefe in the men’s open singles final, while top-seeded and Vanderbilt bound Emma Kurtz takes on unseeded McCartney Kessler in the women’s singles final.

Kessler is in three finals as she and Kurtz are in the women’s doubles at 11 a.m. and Kessler and older brother McClain Kessler are in the mixed open final at 1.

Pasha Goes For Two: At six or seven, Nathan Pasha raised his hand to participate in a one day a week tennis clinic at the Boys and Girls Club in Atlanta. The once-a-week lessons quickly moved to five days a week and within a decade the quick-learning Atlanta native had won a super winter nationals in the 14s, a national 16s clay courts and the national 18s hardcourts doubles (Kalamazoo).

“I played in my first tournament at the age of eight or nine and worked my way up pretty fast,” said Pasha.

The TVOC is the start of his summer tournament tour and heads to Australia in September to play that circuit.

“The TVOC is a good tournament to play especially with the money offered and the hospitality is great with the meals provided and a well run event,” he stated.
