Evelyn Shadwick
Evelyn Jean Shadwick, 88, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.
Mrs. Shadwick was born and raised in Bristol, England. She served in the Woman’s Land Army during World War II, where she met her future husband, Warren Shadwick, who was serving in the U. S. Army in the European Theatre.
Evelyn worked at Loveman’s Department Store before retiring from Proffitt’s Department Store and was a member of East Ridge Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Warren Shadwick; her parents, Albert and Edith Derrick; and two sisters, Irene and Betty.
Surviving are her son, Brian Shadwick and Luz Sawbush; granddaughter, Somer Shadwick and her children, Shane and Adin Morgan; granddaughter, Sunshine (Steven) Perry and their son, Shaden; grandson, Michael Shadwick and his wife, Tonia; great-grandson, Jamie (Kylie) Shadwick and great-great granddaughter, KyWren; great-granddaughter, Michelle Shadwick and Seth Pritchard; and special friends, Sandy Sisk and LaQuita Richardson.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, June 17, followed by a 6 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Pastor John R. Caines will officiate.
A private burial will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
