Police Blotter: Woman Wiggles Out Of Mapco With Case Of Bud Between Her Legs; Stolen Truck Returned With Bullet Holes In FenderA

Police said a woman was able to squirm her way out of the Mapco on Rossville Boulevard with a case of Budweiser beer between her legs.

A cashier flagged down a nearby police officer to tell him to be on the alert for the nimble thief.

The officer was able to stop Dana Palmer nearby.

She said she had gotten the beer for someone else and they had already made the pickup.

The incident was caught on video. Ms. Palmer is seen heading for the cooler, selecting the Budweiser, looking around, then putting it under her dress. She is then seen leaving without stopping at the cash register.

Ms. Palmer was charged with theft under $500.

A woman said when she came out of Belle Vita on Cowart Street she found that someone had busted out both windows on the driver's side of her vehicle as well as the rear window.

She suspects a female who got into an argument with her sister.

No one could be found who saw the vandalism happen.

Phillip Van Winkle said he parked his red 2012 Nissan truck on Tennessee Avenue in St. Elmo and stayed the night with a friend.

He later found that the truck was gone. He had left it unlocked with a spare key in the console.

Pretty soon he got a call from an officer in Red Bank, who said it had been located there.

Two cell phones and a back pack were left in the vehicle by the joy riders.

A man living on E. 26th Street said he was lying in bed when a rock was thrown through his bedroom window.

He did not see who tossed it.

The repair was estimated at $300.

A stolen green 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was abandoned on Fagan Street.

A search found that it had been taken in South Pittsburg.

There were two bullet holes in the left front fender.

Inside the passenger compartment were three cell phones and a Tennessee ID for LaCharleston Haggard. Haggard has been identified as an Athens Park Bloods gang member.

Operators of Accent Masonry told of equipment being stolen from a residential job site on Raccoon Mountain Road.

The equipment had been bound together, but a lock and chain were cut.

Taken were two power drills, two 100-foot power cords, metal scaffolding and a rock dolly pump jack.
