The Montgomery Biscuits knocked off the visiting Chattanooga Lookouts Sunday afternoon, 5-3,in the final game of the first half. Following the three-day All-Star break, Chattanooga opens the second half against the Jackson Generals, winner of the first half in the North Division
After a horrendous start to the 2016 season, the defending Southern League Champions regained their momentum to finish at 36-34 along in second place in the North Division.
The Lookouts appear to have the talent to make a run for the second half title in order to make the 2016 playoffs.
The Lookouts jumped off to a 1-0 lead thanks to a sacrifice fly by Dan Palka.
In the bottom of the first, the Biscuits would even the score on an RBI-single by Patrick Leonard off Chattanooga starter Kohl Stewart (1-2).
In the bottom of the second, an RBI-double over the head of center fielder Shannon Wilkerson gave the Biscuits the lead for good, 2-1.
The Biscuits added a single run in the third and two more runs in the fifth inning.
The best the Lookouts could do was two runs in the sixth inning.
Kohl Stewart (1-2) gave up all five runs on hit hits, he walked three and struck out three in 4 1/3 innings.
