The Master Gardeners of Hamilton County will host the 29th Annual Spring Garden Tour to benefit the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, featuring eight public and private gardens located in downtown Chattanooga, North Chattanooga, Hixson, and East Brainerd.  This year’s tour takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 1-6 p.m.

Tickets for the entire tour are $15 and can be purchased on the day of the event at any of the gardens. For updated information, visit www.mghc.org.

Patsy Boles, long-time master gardener, said, “The private and public gardens included on our 29th annual Spring Garden Tour reflect the inspiration, art and love that go into creating a unique and personal landscape. We invite the public to celebrate the spring season while viewing the many varieties of trees, shrubs, perennials, herbs, and native wildflowers. These gardens also display different ideas for combining plants with sculpture and artifacts, water features, and stonework.

"This year we are very proud to have four premier private gardens in East Brainerd, North Chattanooga and Hixson on our tour. And in keeping with our garden program’s mission of education, we are excited to have the IMAX “Secret Garden” and the Master Gardeners of Hamilton County’s Butterfly/Hummingbird Garden at the Tennessee Aquarium on the tour this year, as well as the Alpine Crest School garden, which is also a MGHC project."

Master Gardeners of Hamilton County is a non-profit, educational, volunteer organization that plays a role in the civic life of Chattanooga and the surrounding area.  Among the many on-going landscaping and garden partnerships undertaken by MGHC are: Audubon Acres, Bonnie Oaks Arboretum, Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center, Chattanooga Area Food Bank, Tennessee Aquarium Butterfly/Hummingbird Garden, Chattanooga Zoo, and Siskin Children’s Garden.
