Singer/songwriter Mark Kelly Hall will return to Puckett’s Chattanooga on Monday, July 4, to celebrate Independence Day with his signature Americana blend of originals and favorites. The music starts at 5 p.m. and admission is free.
His set will include a special tribute to his ancestor Alexander Kelly, who fought in the Revolutionary War and was honored by the local chapter of the D.A.R. with a grave marking ceremony in Jasper, Tn. Mr. Hall shared the song as part of the ceremony, which, he said “was as much like being part of a Garrison Keillor story as anything I could imagine, only this was real, and wonderful.”
Puckett's is located next to the Tennessee Aquarium. For reservations or more information about the restaurant, call 423-708-8505.
Review on Mark Kelly
Mark Kelly Hall addresses topics such as love, faith and the 70's, with an approach that is often humorous but always serious. He is originally from the Chattanooga area and now based in Nashville. His songs reflect the spiritual heritage of the Bible-belt South, combined with a lifelong fascination with American pop culture, and seasoned by his experiences in places far away from his native Tennessee. His style recalls James Taylor and Jim Croce, and his presentation is flavored with congeniality, personal insight, and a touch of country blues.
