Shirley Horner
Shirley Annette “Gran” Horner, 74, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2016.
Shirley attended City High School and was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of East Lake Baptist Church and later a member of Central Baptist Woodmore.
She loved her family and going to Disney World more than anything else. After her children were grown, she helped open the Disney Store in Chattanooga.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frank Horner, Sr., her son, Frank Horner, Jr. and her father, Robert Thompson.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Thompson; daughters, Donna (Tommy) Head of Ringgold, and Deborah (Carl) Deal of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Sarah (Fred) Barr, Jared (Ashleigh) Horner, Jennifer (Kevin) Booth, Joshua and Jacob Deal; great-grandchildren, Harper, Brody and Hallie Booth; brother, Buck Thompson; brothers-in-law, Richard (Retha) and Ronnie (Linda); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with Pastor Dennis McNulty officiating. Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday and from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
