The Jackson Generals scored five runs in the third inning on their way to an 8-2 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts. The loss was the Lookouts first of the second half.
Jackson got off to a good start by scoring a quick run in the first inning. Chattanooga annswered in the bottom of the frame with a Mitch Garver single.
The floodgates opened in the third inning when the Generals scored five runs.
The crippling blow came on a Leon Landry bases clearing RBI triple. They added two more runs in the top of the fifth on a Tyler O'Neill homer.
Daniel Palka crushed a 423 foot homer in the bottom of the frame to cut the lead to six. The homer was his league leading 17th of the year.
After starting pitcher Ryan Eades left the game the team's bullpen locked down the Generals offense.
Relievers Luke Westphal and Raul Fernandez combined to only allow two hits in four innings.

Saturday the Lookouts aim to get back on track against the Generals. Stephen Gonsalves is set to make his Double-A debut. Gates for his start open at 6:00 p.m. with first pitch set for 7:15 p.m.
