Tatum, James Arthur (South Pittsburg)
James Arthur Tatum, 63, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away, Friday, June 24, 2016.
He was a member of The Olivet Baptist Church and had worked at the cement plant. He had a passion for working on old cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dilward and Mary A. Beene Tatum; and a brother, Dwight Slaughter.
James is survived by his daughters, LeAnn Tatum, Cindy (John Lee) Cobb , Rebecca Ingle of South Pittsburg and Clara Chubb, of Chattanooga; brothers, Dilvard (Dorothy) Lane, of South Pittsburg, Stanley (Sylvia) Tatum, Melbourne, FL and Sharone (Trenace) Tatum of Chattanooga,; sisters, Brenda Murphy, Bronx, NY, Rachel Loretta Tolliver, of Chattanooga, and; grandchildren, Jacob Kirkpatrick, Gracie Adcock and Olivia Adcock; uncle, Leon Tatum, Ooltewah; special friends, Anthony Murphy, Dennis Lancaster and William Cole; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, June 2. Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, June 28, at the Tate Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
