Politics in Chattanooga seems to have stalled out. Sure it's only the beginning of June, but there doesn't seem to be any Presidential talk going on in this town.
Marco Rubio came last September to a sweltering hall that went bankrupt a short while later. Ted Cruz popped up at a mega church in East Brainerd on a Monday at nine in the morning when most people were either at work or school. Who had the time to show up then? Ben Carson shilled his book at the Barnes/Noble of Hamilton Place, signing autographs, but offering very little political insight.
For the record, neither Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, or at the time, a beleaguered Martin O'Malley, bothered stopping here. Plus Clinton only fills 200-300 person halls, never stadiums or airfields.
With Trump as the nominee for the Republican Party, how about the leaders in town pull some strings to get a Trump rally down at Finley Stadium? Packed stands and most of the field would net over 23,000 plus in attendance. Chattanooga shouldn't be politically overlooked for any reason.
