This Saturday the National Park Service (NPS) and Outdoor Chattanooga are helping people discover the history and recreational opportunities at the Lookout Mountain Battlefield in honor of the NPS Centennial. This year marks 100 years of stewardship of America's national parks and engaging communities through recreation.
On Saturday, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and Outdoor Chattanooga invite people to try hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing on Lookout Mountain.
Guides will also provide interpretation of park resources and explain regulations protecting the land.
All activities on Saturday begin at Cravens House (Cravens Terrace Road, Lookout Mountain, Tn. 37350). Parking is available, but carpooling is encouraged.

Mountain biking: Ranger-led, 5-mile rides on Upper Truck Trail at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., and 3 p.m.. Bicycles and helmets are available.
