Louise Murphy, 82, died on July 1, 2016 at her home. 

She was employed at a carpet mill for 10 years, and afterwards, she was a homemaker.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bozentown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie James Murphy, Sr.; son, Jerry Lee Murphy and parents, Irene Arnold Keith and Solomon Sanderfur.

Survivors include her children, Jessie James Jr., (Celita) Murphy, Ronnie Louis (Margret Rose) Murphy, Rueben Joe (Retheo) Murphy and Rosemary Sietz; siblings, Myrtle Battle, Nashville; Willie (Shirley) Sanderfur, Harrisburg, PA; Hattie Benn, California; Ervina Jarrett, Nashville; William Sanderfur and Connie Griggs, Chattanooga; Janice Upton, Spring City; Lloyd Sanderfur, Murfreesboro; William (Joyce) Keith, Yvonne (Eddie) Hill and Leon (Arcina) Keith, all of Chattanooga; Sylvia A. Morris, Fort Oglethorpe; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Wednesday, and the family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
