Herbert “Poodle” Cooper, 86, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away, Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at his home.
He was the owner of Cooper’s Service station for 58 years. He was veteran of the US Army and served his county during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in France. He was a 50 year member of the Jasper Masonic Lodge 297.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Herbert and Margaret Long Cooper; and brothers, Burford, D.O. and Grady Cooper.
Poodle is survived by his wife, Faye Griffith Cooper; sons, George (Elizabeth) Cooper, Terry (Debbie) Cooper and Andy (Tanya) Cooper; sister, Virginia Parker; grandchildren, Brian, Jessica, Ashely, Jarred, Lindsay, Riley, Jessica and Tiffany; and great-grandchildren, Reagan, Aiden, Laurel, Addison, Emerie , Carson, Abigail, Jackson and Silas.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. CDT, on Friday, July 1, with funeral services to follow with Sister Brenda Woods and Brother Cecil Baxter officiating. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. CDT, Saturday, July 2, in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
