David C. Russell, 55, of Benton, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 in a Knoxville health care facility.

He loved to sing and did it well, occasionally playing the guitar.  He had a silly sense of humor and a smile that could brighten up anyone’s day.  He always talked about his family and made it a point to always mention his three daughters.  He loved being around his grandchildren, watching them play and making sure they received his full attention.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe Russell and Viola Cross Swann.

He is survived by his step-father, J. T. Swann; daughters, Tiffany (Joseph) Bailey, Kandy (Troy) Spurling and Amy Boyland; son, David Perian; grandchildren, Brandon, Autumn, Mikah, Sierra and Brett Moser, Gavin and Caiden Garlin and Kameron Bailey, Malaya and Kendall Boyland; brothers, Carl (Debbie) Russell and Tommy (Tammy) Swann; and sisters, Pamela (Frankie) Shields and Tammy (Ricky) Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Carl Haulk and Reverend Charles Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at the Higgins Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
