WTCI will broadcast a Hamilton County School Board debate on Thursday, July 14, at 8 p.m. Channel 3 Eyewitness News anchor Greg Glover will moderate the debate presented by the Hamilton County PTA Council, the Chattanooga JFK Club and the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club.
Candidates competing in Districts 1, 2, 4 and 7 will debate in front of a live studio audience on July 12 in the WTCI Studio at 7540 Bonnyshire Dr. and the broadcast will air on WTCI at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. Chattanooga 2.0 has focused attention on the link between quality education and economic prosperity for the community and the conversation will continue with these candidates.
In District 1 incumbent Rhonda Thurman will face challengers Jason Moses and Dr. Patti Skates. District 2 incumbent, Dr. Jonathan Welch, will debate challenger Kathy Lennon and in District 4 the incumbent, George Ricks, will face challengers Montrell Besley and Tiffanie Robinson. Candidate Annette Thompson was invited but has not responded. District 7 incumbent Donna Horn will debate challenger Joe Wingate.
