Because of the shared strength and civic pride that occurs whenever the community supports local schools, Georgia United Credit Union invites you to volunteer at their School Crashers campus beautification day for Tunnel Hill Elementary on Saturday morning, July 16, from 9 a.m. to noon. Georgia United School Crashers awards school improvement grants in its 3rd annual program that attracts hundreds of applicants from across the state.
Tunnel Hill was selected as a 2016 Runner-up grant recipient for a media center makeover, with Chromebook computers donated by Georgia United and carpet donated by Mohawk. Tunnel Hill is a small community school in Whitfield County, whose media center is not only opened for the students but for the community as well. With the media center being used constantly, it is in a desperate need of a makeover.
Interested community volunteers are invited to help improve the learning environment for Tunnel Hill at this landscaping and clean-up day on July 16 at the school located at East School Street. If your civic or church group would like to join Georgia United and Tunnel Hill faculty and staff, simply contact Laney Neary at laney.neary@gucu.org for more information.
