SEVIERVILLE - The Lookouts were able to grab an early lead on Wednesday afternoon and never looked back as they topped the Smokies by a count of 11-1 while taking the series three games to two.

The Lookouts improved to 12-8 in the second half and 48-42 on the year and rest in first-place in the Southern League's North Division.

Kohl Stewart was fantastic on the mound for Chattanooga as he allowed just one run and struck out three and he went a full seven innings.

He was able to retire the side in order in both the fourth and fifth innings on his way to his third win of the year.

Just like they did in the first four games of the series, the Lookouts were the first to strike as they grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Niko Goodrum connected for a one-out single then moved to third courtesy of a single from Ryan Walker. Walker then stole second and both he and Goodrum raced home after Leo Reginatto singled to right field.

The Smokies cut the Lookouts' lead in half in the home half of the second frame when they scored what would be the only run of the game.

The Lookouts answered right back in the top of the third and grabbed a six-run lead thanks to a five-run inning. With one out, D.J. Hicks grounded out, but drove home Goodrum in the process. Reginatto followed that up by drawing a walk before Travis Harrison singled to left scoring Walker.

Ryan Walker went 3-for-4 and scored three runs in Wednesday's game.

Stuart Turner capped off the inning by smoking a three-run home run, his second in as many games over the right field wall giving Chattanooga a 7-1 advantage.

Chattanooga's offense stayed hot in the fourth inning as they tacked on yet another run.

After starting pitcher Paul Blackburn was charged with a throwing error on a pickoff attempt to second moving Zach Granite to third. Blackburn then threw a wild pitch allowing Granite to score making it an 8-1 affair.

Starling Peralta took over for Blackburn to start the fifth and retired the Lookouts in order during his first inning of work.

Chattanooga's Zack Jones took over from Stewart to start the eighth and retired the Smokies in order.

David Berg started the ninth for the Smokies and loaded the bases as he walked Walker with two outs. The former UCLA standout then struck out Hicks, but walked home a run as he gave a free pass to Reginatto.

Harrison followed that up by smoking a double down the right field line driving home Granite and Walker giving Chattanooga an 11-1 edge.

Jones closed out the contest for Chattanooga as he retired the side in order.
