Rep. Tom Graves on Wednesday voted for and the House passed the Conscience Protection Act, legislation prohibiting state and local governments as well as private organizations that receive federal funds from penalizing pro-life individuals who refuse to provide, perform or pay for abortions.
“No one should be forced to violate their conscience and participate in providing abortions simply because they want to offer healthcare to patients or employees,” said Rep. Graves. “Without limiting access to quality care, this legislation protects the conscience of millions of people around the country who believe, like me, that the unborn have a fundamental right to life.”
